Recently, the construction of Taicang Station on the Suzhou Wuxi Changzhou Intercity Railway (North Extension of Jiamin Line) has started. After the completion of the project, the commuting time from Taicang to downtown Shanghai will be reduced to less than one hour.

In recent years, Taicang has seized the opportunities of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the construction of the Hongqiao International Open Hub, focusing on building a comprehensive transportation network based on highways, supported by railways, and linked by waterways. In the context of the construction boom of rail transit under the background of large-scale infrastructure, Taicang has seized the focal point. Xu Qin, Director of Taicang Transportation Bureau, said that Taicang will comprehensively promote the great development and improvement of transportation level, strive to become a gateway city for transportation development in Shanghai and a leading demonstration of integrated transportation in the Yangtze River Delta by the end of the 14th Five Year Plan, and provide solid guarantees for Taicang to build the northern wing of Hongqiao International Open Hub.

Open the Taicang Railway Network Map, the first phase of the Shanghai Suzhou Nantong Railway has been put into operation, the South Yangtze River Intercity Railway has been basically completed, the second phase of the Shanghai Suzhou Nantong Railway and the North Yangtze River Railway are about to start construction, and the Suzhou Wuxi Changzhou Intercity Railway and the Shanghai Municipal Railway Jiamin Line are accelerating their progress

From "no inch of land and no iron" to becoming a crossroads of multiple railways, Taicang has fully integrated into the national railway network and is marching towards the era of high-speed rail with a stride forward.
